The project consisted of demo of the existing Pediatrics Department and constructing a large addition over top of the existing IS department. Three stories above ground  were also added for a new Lobby Entrance, this included more ER rooms, Snack Bar, Gift Shop.  A mechanical space and a top floor that was  shelled space for future build-out made up the other two floors.

The new main entrance had to be excavated down to the basement level, soil stabilization on adjacent buildings, auger piles for the foundations, and a open shell in the basement was constructed for future build-out. The last phase was to remodel the existing ER department moving them in the new space while remodeling the old. This project was extremely tough to construct considering it was located in the center of the hospital and access was tight.

Strict ICRA plans and policies were implemented throughout the construction process. Interim Life-safety measures were checked daily along with all infectious control risk assessment procedures to make sure compliance was maintained.
